Whether you’re updating a shower in Fells Point, installing a kitchen backsplash in Federal Hill, or tiling a basement floor in Canton, expert tile work requires proper surface preparation, precise cuts, and quality materials.
We serve Baltimore homeowners with porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone installations, with most projects starting within one week. Our bathroom remodeling specialists prep surfaces, add waterproofing layers, and install tile that stands up to Baltimore’s humidity and daily wear.

Has never fallen short once in the multiple jobs ive had for them. Had them tear up our parking pad most recently.Posted on Roger Brown2025-10-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trademark did an excellent job with constructing my house. Travis was proficient at supplying excellent vendors and companies to complete the construction. The construction was completed on time and without any flaws. Almost six years from my date of occupancy, his work has withstood the test of time. Aside from power and window washing, the house has required no additional maintenance. Prior to construction, Travis was very helpful in suggesting design changes which increased space for a minimal increase in cost.Posted on Karen Kelch2025-10-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Update: we had Trademark back to install a new matching dishwasher, range, and range hood. The work included a new full electrical line for the range as we switched from a "dual fuel" to a full gas range and only needed a 120 outlet. The fit is excellent, all materials and trash removed, old appliances disposed of, all working. Thank you Marvin and Mike :-) After a great experience with a total bathroom renovation back in 2012, we again had Trademark perform a smaller job this time - remove a 38 year old SubZero built-in and rework the space for a counter-depth refrigerator. As the SubZero was much taller and left a large opening above the new refrigerator, their designer Nona spotted a fix immediately: remove the larger wood panel that matched the cabinets from the SubZero, size and then mount it to create the appearance of a matching cabinet above the new refrigerator. Their carpenters Marvin and Mike did great work with the wood panel and the rest of the "box", creating an attractive install rather than a "workaround". As we're planning a total kitchen renovation later in the year, this was a great solution to let us install a freezer that actually stays cold now until we're ready for the rest of the renovation :-)Posted on Charles James2025-09-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is our second time working with Trademark Construction, and we couldn't be happier. We were so impressed with the kitchen and bath renovation they did for us five years ago that we didn't hesitate to hire them again for a major kitchen remodel in our new Towson home. From start to finish, Vasilios and his team consistently deliver exceptional service. We love that their easy online scheduling and the small consultation fee are both incredibly valuable. We were also very impressed with their professionalism and project management abilities. They use online software that allows us to see the schedule and monitor our entire project from start to finish. Trademark Construction is not only MHIC licensed, but they also hold a master plumbing license, which allows them to handle all plumbing installations. This is a huge bonus! We highly recommend them for any kitchen, bathroom, basement, or full-home remodel.Posted on Tom Paradis2025-06-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Vasilios and the Trademark Construction Team was extremely helpful with helping me select and order the Onyx Collection solid surface shower kit. The material was priced fairly , well packed in protective shipping material, and delivered exactly according to plan. The Team also has offered to provide any assistance that I may need when I install it. I recommend Trademark Construction and Onyx Collection material for any remodeling projects.
Proper surface preparation creates the stable base your tile needs to resist cracking, water damage, and shifting. Without this critical prep work, tiles crack or pop loose within months.
Old Baltimore rowhomes in Fells Point and Canton settle over time. Some floors slope two inches across a room. We add a leveling compound before the tile goes down. Pigtown basements need vapor barriers to stop water from coming up through concrete.
Bathroom walls require cement backer boards screwed directly into wall studs. We install waterproof membrane over the backer board in all shower installation and tub surrounds to prevent moisture from reaching framing. Many Baltimore homeowners combine tile work with complete bathroom remodeling in Baltimore to update fixtures, lighting, and layouts at the same time.
Kitchen floors often need anti-fracture mats under tile to stop cracks when the house shifts. We screw the floor down tight at every joist first.
Porcelain tile resists chips and water better than ceramic, making it the top choice for busy Baltimore kitchens and high-moisture bathrooms. Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperatures, creating a denser, less porous material.
Natural stone tile, including marble, travertine, and slate, offers unique patterns and warmth, but requires sealing twice a year to prevent stains and water damage.
Ceramic tile offers a budget-friendly option for Baltimore bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, and low-traffic areas. It comes in countless colors and patterns but is softer and more porous than porcelain.
Baltimore’s humid summers and freezing winters make porcelain the better choice for outdoor patios, walkways, and entryways. Water absorbed by ceramic tile expands when it freezes, causing cracks.
Large-format tiles like 12×24 inches create a modern look with fewer grout lines, making small Baltimore rowhome bathrooms appear more spacious. Small tiles hide minor imperfections better but take longer to install.
Professional tile installers use laser levels, precision spacers, and measuring tools to keep every tile perfectly square and level. We maintain tolerances under 1/16 inch between tiles, eliminating trip hazards and ensuring a smooth, safe surface.
Old Federal Hill rowhomes often have sloped floors. We use leveling systems to build up low spots with compound that flows into dips and dries hard enough for tile.
We locate the room’s center point and snap chalk lines at perfect right angles, mapping exactly where full tiles will go and where cuts are needed. Strategic layout planning hides cut tiles under cabinets, behind doors, or in less visible corners.
Tile spacers maintain consistent grout lines across the entire floor, while leveling clips and wedges prevent uneven edges (lippage) as mortar cures. Our installation methods follow the TCNA Handbook for Ceramic, Glass and Stone Tile Installation, the industry standard for proper installation.
Epoxy grout resists mold and stains far better than traditional cement-based grout, ideal for Baltimore bathrooms and kitchens. While epoxy costs more upfront, it saves hours of scrubbing over time. Because epoxy grout is non-porous, water can’t penetrate it.
Sealed grout lines repel water and soap scum. For best protection in Baltimore’s humid climate, reseal grout every 12 to 18 months.
Baltimore basements are prone to humidity and moisture issues, making mold-resistant grout and proper ventilation essential. Dark grout colors show less dirt and mildew than bright white.
Flexible caulk (not grout) should be used where tile meets bathtubs or countertops. Grout cracks in these locations because materials expand and contract at different rates. Caulk flexes with movement, preventing cracks.
Sweep or vacuum daily to remove grit, then mop weekly with mild pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that strip sealers. Mild dish soap mixed with warm water safely cleans most tile surfaces.Reseal grout lines every 12 to 18 months. Test by placing water drops on the surface, if water beads up, the sealer works; if water soaks in, it’s time to reseal.
Baltimore’s hard water leaves white mineral deposits on shower tiles. A quick squeegee after each shower prevents these spots.Soap scum wipes away easily when caught early. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, spray affected areas, wait five minutes, then wipe clean. Many Baltimore homeowners complete their bathroom renovation transformation with fresh painting, updated wall colors complement new tile.
Tile backsplashes resist heat, splashes, and grease far better than painted walls. A quick wipe-down after cooking keeps the tile looking fresh.Always sweep before mopping, grit acts like sandpaper, wearing down sealers. Place doormats at exterior doors to trap dirt.
