Has never fallen short once in the multiple jobs ive had for them. Had them tear up our parking pad most recently.Posted on Roger Brown2025-10-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trademark did an excellent job with constructing my house. Travis was proficient at supplying excellent vendors and companies to complete the construction. The construction was completed on time and without any flaws. Almost six years from my date of occupancy, his work has withstood the test of time. Aside from power and window washing, the house has required no additional maintenance. Prior to construction, Travis was very helpful in suggesting design changes which increased space for a minimal increase in cost.Posted on Karen Kelch2025-10-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Update: we had Trademark back to install a new matching dishwasher, range, and range hood. The work included a new full electrical line for the range as we switched from a "dual fuel" to a full gas range and only needed a 120 outlet. The fit is excellent, all materials and trash removed, old appliances disposed of, all working. Thank you Marvin and Mike :-) After a great experience with a total bathroom renovation back in 2012, we again had Trademark perform a smaller job this time - remove a 38 year old SubZero built-in and rework the space for a counter-depth refrigerator. As the SubZero was much taller and left a large opening above the new refrigerator, their designer Nona spotted a fix immediately: remove the larger wood panel that matched the cabinets from the SubZero, size and then mount it to create the appearance of a matching cabinet above the new refrigerator. Their carpenters Marvin and Mike did great work with the wood panel and the rest of the "box", creating an attractive install rather than a "workaround". As we're planning a total kitchen renovation later in the year, this was a great solution to let us install a freezer that actually stays cold now until we're ready for the rest of the renovation :-)Posted on Charles James2025-09-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is our second time working with Trademark Construction, and we couldn't be happier. We were so impressed with the kitchen and bath renovation they did for us five years ago that we didn't hesitate to hire them again for a major kitchen remodel in our new Towson home. From start to finish, Vasilios and his team consistently deliver exceptional service. We love that their easy online scheduling and the small consultation fee are both incredibly valuable. We were also very impressed with their professionalism and project management abilities. They use online software that allows us to see the schedule and monitor our entire project from start to finish. Trademark Construction is not only MHIC licensed, but they also hold a master plumbing license, which allows them to handle all plumbing installations. This is a huge bonus! We highly recommend them for any kitchen, bathroom, basement, or full-home remodel.Posted on Tom Paradis2025-06-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Vasilios and the Trademark Construction Team was extremely helpful with helping me select and order the Onyx Collection solid surface shower kit. The material was priced fairly , well packed in protective shipping material, and delivered exactly according to plan. The Team also has offered to provide any assistance that I may need when I install it. I recommend Trademark Construction and Onyx Collection material for any remodeling projects.
A complete backsplash installation protects your walls from water and grease while creating a finished look that complements your countertops and tile flooring. Whether you’re doing a full kitchen remodel in Hampden or refreshing a worn backsplash in Mount Vernon, the process involves three critical steps: surface prep, adhesive application, and grout sealing.
We start by prepping the wall surface to create a stable base. Baltimore rowhomes often have plaster walls that need extra prep or backer board to hold tile securely over time. Next, we apply adhesive in small sections to ensure proper bonding during humidity changes. Finally, we seal grout lines after they cure to prevent water from getting behind the tiles.
Each step builds on the one before it. Skipping or rushing any part of this process leads to loose tiles, water stains, or mold growth within months. For additional technical guidance on wall tile installation methods, refer to Daltile’s professional installation guide.
Proper wall prep prevents tiles from cracking or popping off when walls shift or absorb moisture. This is especially important in Baltimore, where historic rowhomes in Fells Point and newer builds in Canton both face unique wall challenges.
We inspect your wall surface for damage and remove loose paint before starting any tile work. Older homes built before 1950 often have plaster walls that move differently than modern drywall as the house settles. High summer humidity near the Chesapeake Bay can cause drywall to swell, which is why we install cement backer boards behind the stove and sink areas. Skipping this step leads to tile failure within two years.
We check for soft spots, cracks, water damage, and peeling paint before starting your backsplash installation. If we find issues, we fix them first. Cement board solves most moisture problems since it won’t swell, rot, or grow mold even when exposed to daily steam and splashes.
Once the wall is properly prepped, choosing the right adhesive ensures your backsplash stays bonded through Baltimore’s humid summers and daily cooking heat.
We use a thin-set for most Baltimore kitchens because it handles moisture better than mastic. Baltimore sits near the Chesapeake Bay, where summer humidity often reaches 70 to 80 percent. This moisture gets into walls and weakens mastic bonds over time. Mastic also dries faster and costs less, but it can turn yellow behind white subway tiles and loses grip when exposed to heat from stoves or steam from sinks.
Thin-set contains Portland cement and actually gets stronger when exposed to moisture. It takes longer to cure than mastic, but the wait pays off with a backsplash that stays put for decades. For glass tiles, we always use white thin-set so the adhesive doesn’t show through and change the tile color.
Installing your backsplash after countertops are set creates a tight fit at the seam and prevents tile damage during counter work. Many Baltimore contractors schedule backsplash installation one week after granite or quartz countertops cure, which allows seams to align perfectly.
Countertop installers need clear wall access to position heavy slabs correctly. If tile is already up, they risk chipping or cracking it. Once countertops are secure, we measure the exact gap between the counter surface and upper cabinets to determine tile layout. We start the first row right against the countertop and work our way up.
The bottom edge gets caulked rather than grouted. Caulk stays flexible and prevents water from seeping into the seam when countertops expand and contract with temperature changes.
Narrow galley kitchens in Federal Hill and Hampden rowhomes can feel more spacious with the right tile layout. Vertical subway tile makes low ceilings look higher without costly structural changes. Horizontal layouts stretch narrow walls and create a modern look. Diagonal patterns add visual interest but require more cuts and increase material costs by 15 to 20 percent.
We plan your layout before mixing any adhesive. We dry-fit tiles on the wall to see how patterns align with outlets, windows, and cabinet edges. For small kitchens common in Baltimore rowhomes, running tile vertically from counter to cabinet makes the space feel taller and more open. Horizontal layouts work better in kitchens with plenty of wall space, creating a calm, continuous flow.
Most installations complete in one day, so you can use your kitchen the same evening. We start in the morning and finish tile work by early afternoon, then grout before we leave. Projects in older Baltimore homes may take 10 hours if plaster repair or backer board installation is needed.
Timeline depends on wall condition and tile complexity. Standard subway tile in a running bond pattern goes up faster than intricate mosaic or herringbone layouts. The first hour covers wall prep and layout marking. Tile installation takes three to five hours depending on cuts needed around outlets and windows. Grout application and cleanup add another two hours.
Your kitchen is ready to use that evening. Avoid heavy water use near the backsplash for 24 hours to let the grout fully cure.
